Job description

Role overview

This position sits at the intersection of project planning, scheduling systems, process improvement, and digital transformation. The individual will shape, run, and continuously refine the scheduling ecosystem that supports integrated project execution across ITO and OTR. The role blends Primavera P6 expertise with project controls know-how, automation, enterprise systems knowledge, and analytics to support the One Project Schedule (OPS) operating model and broader planning transformation efforts.

The selected professional will connect planning and scheduling teams with engineering, equipment planning, project management, factory operations, IT/UDC developers, PLM, PMx, Data Lake, and other system owners. The core focus will be on building and governing tools, automation flows, integrations, dashboards, and data quality controls that enable baseline creation, schedule updates, project readiness, proposal analysis, field-test learnings, and execution reporting.

OPS digital scheduling architecture

  • Shape and support the digital architecture required for the OPS scheduling model across projects.
  • Maintain and improve the Primavera P6 enterprise setup used for integrated engineering, equipment, factory, logistics, PM key dates, and project baseline schedules.
  • Oversee OPS template governance, baseline creation, rebaseline processes, and schedule update/reporting routines.
  • Make sure the scheduling design supports integrated logic, cross-product dependencies, PM key dates, CUD/Vendoc requirements, and baseline readiness.
  • Work with planning, engineering, equipment, and tool teams to turn field-test insights into repeatable digital scheduling solutions.

Primavera P6 administration and enterprise scheduling support

  • Apply advanced Primavera P6 knowledge across EPS/OBS setup, project codes, activity codes, calendars, baselines, layouts, global changes, user access, and schedule settings.
  • Assist with P6 project setup, template duplication, baseline assignment, project coding, and integration preparation.
  • Resolve P6 problems related to scheduling options, F9 simulation, constraints, loops, negative float, baseline mismatches, and integration breakdowns.
  • Ensure P6 data structures remain compatible with downstream platforms such as GER, OTD Tracker, PMx, PLM, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Support controlled rollout of P6 configuration updates in line with governance expectations.

Tool development, automation, and integration

  • Lead or support automation initiatives that cut manual planning effort and improve schedule quality.
  • Collaborate with UDC, IT, and development teams to define requirements, test solutions, verify outputs, and manage deployment of planning tools.
  • Support connections between P6 and enterprise systems such as PLM, PMx, Data Lake, UDC, OTD Tracker, LTDB, Vendoc/CDH loaders, and reporting dashboards.
  • Convert business process needs into functional specifications, user stories, validation rules, and test cases.
  • Own user acceptance testing, defect management, and ongoing enhancement of planning automation tools.
  • Ensure automation solutions are scalable, traceable, and aligned with project controls governance.

ITO proposal planning and analysis

  • Support ITO planning teams with proposal schedule analysis, standard cycle validation, lead-time analysis, and bid-readiness reviews.
  • Manage complex TK and EEP project scheduling during the ITO phase, including partner coordination and support for customer clarification discussions.
  • Strengthen the ITO-to-OTR handover by aligning proposal assumptions, standard cycles, customer commitments, and OPS logic.
  • Maintain and improve ITO analysis tools and dashboards used to compare contractual commitments with OPS/LTDB standard cycles.
  • Spot gaps between as-sold dates, standard cycles, and execution templates before OTR baseline development begins.
  • Provide analytical support for proposal risk reviews, schedule feasibility checks, and planning assumptions.

Data quality, reporting, and analytics

  • Create and maintain data-quality checks for schedule readiness, baseline completeness, project codes, activity coding, MLI mapping, baseline type, and reporting eligibility.
  • Support dashboards and analytics covering schedule health, readiness gates, negative float, critical path, variance, cycle compliance, and tool synchronization status.
  • Work with reporting and data teams to ensure schedule information is extracted, transformed, and consumed correctly by downstream reporting tools.
  • Investigate why projects do not appear correctly in trackers, dashboards, GER, OTD, or PMx/PLM reporting.
  • Build structured diagnostics and issue-resolution playbooks for recurring tool and data issues.

Governance, process, and standardization

  • Help create and maintain QMS and governance documents for OPS tools, template management, baseline creation, rebaseline activities, reporting, and integrations.
  • Define standard work instructions for tool users, planners, schedulers, and functional teams.
  • Support monthly working-team reviews and quarterly governance reviews for OPS tools and scheduling architecture.
  • Maintain clear RACI alignment among Planning, Engineering, Equipment, Factory, PM, IT/UDC, and tool owners.
  • Make sure lessons learned from pilot projects and field tests are turned into durable process and tool improvements.

Stakeholder engagement and change management

  • Serve as a major link between business users and technical development teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, tool demonstrations, issue-resolution sessions, and schedule-readiness reviews.
  • Train and coach planners, schedulers, and stakeholders on tool usage, P6 configuration, automation workflows, and data-governance expectations.
  • Explain technical issues in a clear business-oriented way for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Encourage adoption of standardized, integrated, digitally enabled project controls practices.

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or another related technical field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, project management systems, or enterprise tool implementation.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Primavera P6, including project structures, baselines, codes, scheduling options, logic, calendars, and reporting data.
  • Experience supporting complex projects, ideally in power generation, energy, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, or EPC settings.
  • Proven ability to turn business process needs into tool requirements, functional specifications, test scripts, and automation logic.
  • Experience working with cross-functional groups such as Planning, Engineering, Equipment, Project Management, IT, and data/reporting teams.
  • Strong Excel and data-analysis capability.
  • Ability to diagnose complex system, data, and process issues and drive them through to resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired characteristics

  • A systems-oriented thinker who can connect project controls processes, scheduling logic, enterprise tools, and business outcomes.
  • A strong problem solver who can work across people, process, data, and systems layers.
  • Comfortable operating between technical developers and business users.
  • Proactive, structured, and execution-driven.
  • Able to challenge assumptions while preserving strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Detail-focused with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Curious and open to learning new tools, integrations, and business processes.
  • A capable facilitator who can lead working sessions, issue reviews, and governance discussions.
  • Able to convert lessons learned into standard work, governance, and scalable solutions.
