Job description

Overview

An organised and proactive Project Officer is needed to support a temporary business improvement initiative aimed at lifting operational systems, improving onboarding for staff, expanding access to quality resources, and creating more consistent processes across core business functions.

This appointment is temporary until 11 December 2026, unless the arrangement is changed earlier or later as determined.

About Queensland Pathways State College

Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) offers a flexible, future-focused senior schooling program for young people aged 15 to 18. With tailored learning, strong relationships, and targeted support, the college helps students reconnect with education, build on their strengths, and move confidently into further study, training, or work.

With nine campuses across Queensland, QPSC is committed to providing innovative and responsive learning settings that support student achievement and staff capability.

The Role

Working alongside the Business Manager, the Project Officer will contribute to a range of improvement activities focused on streamlining operations, strengthening onboarding processes, and building resources that support consistency across campuses.

The position involves project delivery tasks, research, document review, and resource creation that enhance operational efficiency and improve access to high-quality materials across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and organise the school’s SharePoint environment so operational documents and resources are easier to find, more consistent, and simpler to use.
  • Check existing operational documents and resources to ensure they are up to date and aligned with departmental policies, legal obligations, and school procedures.
  • Support the review of business operations pages, workplace health and safety materials, and procedural documents to improve consistency and accessibility across all campuses.
  • Research effective onboarding, induction, and workplace health and safety practices used in education and other sectors to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Create, design, and implement online onboarding and induction programs for teaching and support staff using QLearn or another suitable e-learning platform to deliver a consistent experience across campuses.
  • Develop centralised operational tools, templates, guides, and support materials that improve consistency, strengthen business continuity, and reduce duplicated effort.
  • Assist in reviewing operational systems and identifying opportunities to improve standardisation and efficiency.
  • Prepare reports, project updates, and recommendations for the Business Manager.
  • Carry out other project tasks and related duties as required during the project term.

About You

The following experience and strengths would be highly regarded:

  • Background supporting projects, business improvement work, or operational programs.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience producing documents, resources, or procedural materials.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of professional documents, guides, training resources, or operational materials.
  • Experience using SharePoint, QLearn, or similar content management and online learning systems.
  • Ability to research, interpret information, and contribute to process improvement work.
  • Capability to work well with others while balancing multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality outcomes.
  • Experience in education, administration, government, or project support will be an advantage.

How to Apply

  • Submit a short resume that includes contact details for two referees who can speak to your relevant work history.
  • Include a two-page response addressing the Leadership Competencies section in the attached role description.
