Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is for a Project Manager to lead healthcare and commercial construction work from early planning through final handoff. The position sits in a general contractor setting and involves ownership of project delivery, financial results, communication with clients, subcontractor coordination, and schedule control across several active assignments.

The hiring team is seeking someone with a background in healthcare construction, including work inside occupied facilities, and who can perform well in a fast-moving construction environment. The business is experiencing a growing volume of healthcare and commercial projects across the Southeast.

What you will do

  • Direct healthcare and commercial construction jobs from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Handle budgets, schedules, subcontractors, purchasing activities, and contract-related administration.
  • Drive project planning and keep accountability for cost, timing, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Work closely with field staff, superintendents, architects, engineers, owners, and trade partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Examine drawings, technical specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project records.
  • Track financial performance, predict cost outcomes, and flag risks before they affect delivery.
  • Run owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, and regular project progress reviews.
  • Support work in occupied healthcare facilities, medical renovation projects, and other specialized healthcare settings.
  • Travel to job sites when necessary to stay involved, solve issues, and help ensure successful completion.
  • Manage several projects at once while keeping schedule and budget goals on track.

Experience and knowledge needed

  • At least 3 years of Project Manager experience in commercial construction.
  • Healthcare construction experience is mandatory.
  • Experience with projects in occupied healthcare facilities is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ICRA procedures, infection control practices, and healthcare renovation requirements is a strong advantage.
  • Background in commercial, institutional, healthcare, or medical facility construction is relevant.
  • Ability to understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
  • Strong grasp of project financial control, forecasting, subcontract management, and change control.
  • Comfort working on more than one project at the same time.
  • Residential-only construction experience will not meet the needs of this role.

Compensation and benefits

Pay will be competitive and aligned to experience.

Possible benefits include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, performance-based bonus opportunities, and additional company-sponsored programs.

This position is based in Nashville, Tennessee and is a full-time, onsite role. Travel to project locations is expected about twice per month, including overnight travel when needed.
