Project Manager - Solar EPC (RE- RTC Solar+BESS)

Role Overview

You will be responsible for managing the technical scope, bill of materials, costing, and plant layout for Solar + BESS land parcels. The role blends practical site execution experience, especially with tracker-based projects, with project management responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

Take ownership of the bill of materials for each parcel and ensure the correct quantities and technical specifications are maintained for modules, trackers, inverters, BESS, cables, transformers, and balance-of-system items.

Define the technical scope clearly and keep it aligned with the selected configuration and actual site conditions.

Improve plant layout by working on row spacing, block sizing, road placement, and cable routing to support yield, land efficiency, and constructability, with special attention to the Rann of Kutch environment.

Prepare accurate costing for the BOM and execution scope, review rates critically, identify missing items, and keep parcel estimates robust and defensible.

Ensure each parcel is ready for execution by checking design freeze status, vendor readiness, logistics planning, site constraints, and construction sequencing.

Factor in terrain and site realities such as soil conditions, above-ground cable routing, wind exposure, and access issues while finalizing design and cost.

Lead schedule, cost, and quality management for assigned parcels while coordinating across engineering, procurement, and site teams.

Support bid and proposal work by providing reliable BOM, costing, and execution inputs so that business analysis reflects actual build costs.

Experience and Qualifications

Approximately 15 years of experience in solar EPC, with direct site execution experience and a transition into project management.

Strong working knowledge of solar and BESS BOMs, technical scope definition, costing, and layout optimization.

Experience with single-axis tracker execution is strongly preferred.

Exposure to BESS integration in utility-scale projects is expected.

Demonstrated success in delivering large solar parcels while meeting cost, schedule, and quality targets.

Comfort working on remote, large-scale project sites and their execution challenges.

A B.E. or B.Tech degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering is required; PMP or a similar certification will be an advantage.

Skills and Working Style

You should be highly practical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working out the real cost impact of every line item in a BOM.

You need strong field judgment to identify constructability and logistics issues early.

The role requires someone who can connect engineering, site execution, and project management smoothly.

You should remain dependable and composed in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments.
