Role Overview
The Project Manager role based in Bay of Plenty entails full-time, on-location responsibilities for overseeing landscape projects. Core duties include planning and coordinating schedules and budgets, managing resources and material deliveries, supervising site execution and inspections, and maintaining communications with clients, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensuring safety and environmental compliance while addressing project hurdles and providing progress reports is essential. The manager will also contribute to enhancing project management processes and fostering a cooperative, safety-aware work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule projects to meet timelines and quality standards.
- Monitor project budgets and resource allocation efficiently.
- Coordinate materials procurement and timely delivery with suppliers.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to safety and specifications.
- Manage logistics involving equipment and transportation on site.
- Collaborate with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors effectively.
- Address and resolve issues arising during project execution.
- Support ongoing improvements in project delivery processes.
- Promote a culture of safety and teamwork on site.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in project management processes including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience in expediting, material order tracking, and supplier communication.
- Competent in site inspections focusing on quality control and safety compliance.
- Skills in logistics management for equipment and resource coordination.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or civil engineering projects, ideally in New Zealand.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities with multidisciplinary groups.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Relevant qualifications in project management, construction, or similar disciplines advantageous.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental rules and best practices.
