Project Manager

Role overview

HEH Civil Pty Ltd is seeking a Project Manager to oversee civil construction and infrastructure projects from the planning stage through to completion. This role involves creating project plans and budgets, tracking delivery, coordinating the purchase of materials and equipment, ensuring all work meets relevant standards and regulations, and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, partners, and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support teams so projects are delivered successfully.
• Prepare project plans and budgets that are aligned with the project’s objectives.
• Choose subcontractors and assemble the wider project team with other construction professionals.
• Monitor project progress, schedules, and cost control throughout delivery.
• Organise procurement of materials and equipment required for the work.
• Maintain compliance with applicable industry standards, rules, and permit requirements.
• Assess and sign off on construction designs and project plans.
• Ensure work is completed within agreed budget, timeframes, and quality expectations.
• Develop and sustain effective relationships with clients, partners, and contractors.
• Oversee health and safety compliance and arrange regular training for workers.
• Lead project teams by offering direction, support, and practical guidance to all staff involved.

Qualifications and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field is required.
• At least 5 years of experience managing construction projects in civil infrastructure is needed.
• Relevant experience should include work across urban development, roads, bridges, drainage, water and sewer, bulk earthworks, or similar areas.
• Prior exposure to Tier 1 clients and TMR projects is expected.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities are essential.
• Good knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements is needed.
• Confidence in managing budgets and timelines is important.
• Familiarity with project management software and related tools is required.
• The ability to stay effective under pressure and manage several projects at the same time is necessary.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills are important.
