Job description
Role Overview
The Project Manager (PM) role involves overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring client satisfaction while adhering to Sewell's policies and the Construction Excellence framework. This position will support projects regionally across Yorkshire, with offices located in Elland and Hull.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project delivery by fostering collaboration among clients, subcontractors, design teams, and internal staff as a unified team.
- Allocate appropriate resources and clearly assign roles within project teams to facilitate effective execution.
- Continuously evaluate team performance, establish objectives, and identify training or development needs.
- Set and maintain high expectations to encourage top performance and build strong, cooperative relationships throughout the supply chain.
- Collaborate on delivering clear project requirements and communications.
- Ensure the project site and associated areas such as boundaries, roads, welfare, and offices are well-maintained and orderly.
- Take responsibility for health, safety, and wellbeing on projects, exemplifying leadership to embed a positive safety culture.
- Identify, report, and address quality issues promptly to uphold high standards.
- Minimize financial losses by preventing waste of time, materials, or rectifications due to substandard work.
- Ensure design compliance with delivery plans, client briefs, maintenance needs, budget limits, and all relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Prevent any violations of environmental laws, reduce project-related disruptions, and actively minimize adverse environmental impacts.
Requirements

- Valid UK full driving licence.
- HNC qualification or higher and a valid 5-day CITB SMSTS certificate.
- Proven experience overseeing large scale construction projects, including managing subcontractors.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Familiarity with project scheduling and web-based document management tools.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Self-motivated and collaborative work approach.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging senior clients and subcontractors.
- Strong organizational and prioritization capabilities.
- Positive commitment to learning, development, and work flexibility.
- Knowledge of current health and safety practices.
Desirable attributes:
- Experience with public and private sector clients.
- Pursuing or holding relevant professional qualifications.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools or training.

Working Hours & Location
This is a 40-hour per week role, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, based in the Yorkshire region.
