Role overview
Flynn Group of Companies is hiring an experienced Project Manager to support its Flynn Facades division in Mississauga, Ontario. This position focuses on delivering glazing and curtain wall construction projects safely, with strong workmanship and service quality, while supporting client retention and long-term business relationships. The role serves as the central coordinator across internal teams, acts as the client’s primary contact, and oversees the financial tracking, reporting, and overall stewardship of each project.
What the role involves
- Champion Flynn’s safety expectations by supporting the safety culture and carrying out site safety and quality inspections at least once every two months, then reporting findings to the Director.
- Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with clients and subcontractors.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender correspondence to ensure scope clarity.
- Oversee SIs, CCNs, C/Os, CDs, and RFIs so they are properly tracked and resolved.
- Handle bonding applications and confirm that all required insurance coverage remains in place.
- Build and maintain a detailed Schedule of Values to support invoicing.
- Monitor monthly progress, manage billing, forecast sales, apply for substantial performance, request holdback release, and support collection of progress payments.
- Approve purchase order invoices, subcontractor invoices, and subcontractor holdbacks.
- Review project costs through cost coding and financial data analysis, then forecast and report results.
- Ensure handover, kickoff, and autopsy meetings are conducted and documented.
- Confirm that engineered shop drawings are accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
- Set up and support a project-specific quality control program.
- Make sure closeout documents and properly drafted warranties are delivered to the client.
- Keep important discussions and decisions documented in writing to protect the company.
- Escalate issues or concerns to the Project Director and relevant departments so the wider team can respond effectively.
- Understand client objectives and guide the project proactively toward successful delivery.
- Assign work to Project Coordinators and support their growth and development.
- Contribute to a collaborative, supportive team culture.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and customers while identifying conflicts and negotiating practical solutions.
