About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead high-impact Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects in Southeast Queensland and Northern Rivers NSW. This role involves end-to-end project delivery, with a strong focus on safety, quality, financial performance, and client satisfaction. You will be responsible for fostering a positive team environment, conducting HSEQ inspections, managing client and stakeholder relations, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a positive and proactive atmosphere for staff and subcontractors.
  • Champion a strong safety culture through regular HSEQ inspections.
  • Represent Alder professionally in all interactions with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify project risks, defects, and potential delays by reviewing documentation.
  • Implement stringent cost control measures, accurate forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive short-term and long-term project programs.
  • Provide essential input to the estimating team during tender processes.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review and contribute to subcontractor scopes, programs, and associated documentation.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings, specifications, and technical documents throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Organize and lead project start-up meetings, coordinating internal support teams.
  • Identify, monitor, and effectively manage key project risks.
  • Ensure subcontractor performance meets project requirements and specifications.
  • Deliver projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and contractual obligations.
  • Manage head contract claims, variations, extensions of time, and progress claims.
  • Prepare detailed monthly project reports for Senior Management.
  • Approve invoices within authorized limits.
  • Oversee project close-out, commissioning, and final contract completion.

About You - Skills & Experience

We are looking for a candidate with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities. Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • A tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager within the Civil & Infrastructure sector.
  • Previous experience in Water and Wastewater projects is a significant advantage.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support project teams effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • A collaborative approach, adept at working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • High proficiency in digital tools and software.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a commitment to achieving time and financial targets.
