Role Overview

This position requires providing expert technical and project leadership for projects aimed at assessing, improving, and rectifying chemical processes within both manufacturing and development environments. You will spearhead multidisciplinary collaborations to evaluate process performance, investigate deviations, establish root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Critical responsibilities include reviewing and approving analytical data to underpin key process decisions, maintaining scientific accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality standards. Close cooperation with manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams is essential to optimize processes and implement sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify project resource needs and partner with functional heads to secure appropriate technical expertise.
  • Lead and synchronize cross-functional project activities ensuring unity on goals, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and guidance to promote team growth and knowledge dissemination.
  • Conduct research to create, refine or remediate analytical methodologies, techniques, and procedures.
  • Apply analytical testing methods to assess compound quantity, quality, and purity.
  • Produce precise technical documentation including findings, root cause analyses, and enhancement suggestions.
  • Engage in investigative research to expand technical knowledge and evaluate new technological or analytical innovations.
  • Analyze the relationship between molecular structure and physical properties supporting data evaluation and decisions.
  • Inspect analytical data ensuring validity, completeness, and scientific integrity.
  • Authorize analytical data within established authority boundaries, with the exception of final product disposition decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates are expected to hold an NFQ Level 7 qualification with full credits in a relevant domain and possess a minimum of four years' pertinent experience, or an analogous blend of education and practical exposure.

Technical and Professional Competence

Applicants must demonstrate comprehensive expertise in chemical or related technical disciplines, with a firm grasp of cross-functional interdependencies and business consequences. They should be acknowledged as a technical authority within their teams and across departments, adept at functioning in a regulated environment demanding strict compliance adherence.

Analytical and Cognitive Abilities

Successful candidates will be adept at resolving complex technical and process issues by evaluating numerous variables and exercising prudent judgment. They will select suitable methodologies considering cost-effectiveness, quality, regulatory standards, and project timelines.

Leadership and Influence

The role involves exerting technical leadership without formal direct authority, influencing stakeholders spanning manufacturing, quality, engineering, and senior leadership. You will lead projects and act as a mentor and trusted consultant fostering professional development within the team.

Project Management Skills

Strong planning and organizational capabilities are required to oversee complex assignments involving multiple stakeholders, establishing clear priorities, milestones, and timelines for successful execution.

Decision Making and Autonomy
