Job description
Role overview
AZOROM is supporting an existing contract with ESB and is looking to appoint a Project Management Office Specialist for the current requirement. The role sits within ESB Networks as it moves through a project management transformation, with a stronger emphasis on consistent methodology, higher-quality data, and improved delivery governance across the PR6 portfolio.
The purpose of the position is to help standardise project management practices across related PR6 programmes, improve delivery outcomes, and strengthen assurance across a large and complex portfolio of work.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with project teams to apply the PMM methodology and support the effective development and delivery of projects.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions as needed across areas such as project planning, WBS creation, risk management, lessons learned, and stakeholder management.
- Encourage, collect, and review feedback on PMM processes, templates, and tools to support continuous improvement.
- Help build project management capability within the assigned department or business unit.
- Promote PMM adoption and orientation across the project management community.
- Provide facilitation support for relevant stakeholder groups.
- Support stakeholder engagement and communication activities.
- Champion the use of PMM processes, tools, and templates in day-to-day project work.
- Capture and embed lessons learned into PMM practices and the broader project lifecycle.
- Work with the Programme Manager to support the rollout of PMIS and PMM across the PM community.
Required experience and skills
The successful candidate should bring strong project management knowledge, practical workshop facilitation ability, and the confidence to work independently while taking ownership of tasks and projects. The role also requires excellent communication, planning, time management, and attention to detail.
A background in construction or related delivery environments is important, along with proven experience in stakeholder management and collaborative team working. The position also calls for flexibility, willingness to travel, and commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Preferred background
Helpful additional experience includes exposure to data-related work, SAP, GIS systems, electricity network utilities, PMO environments, project delivery infrastructure, network assets, and reporting tools such as Power BI or Excel.
Working arrangements
This is a hybrid role based at ESB Networks offices in Leopardstown. The arrangement combines remote work with attendance on site for in-person collaboration and workshops, which may be required on a week-by-week basis depending on project timelines.
Work pattern is 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The expected start is as soon as possible, and the contract duration is 12 months.
Qualifications and licence
Applicants should hold a degree or master’s in engineering, IT, data, or a relevant discipline, and also have one or more of the following: PMP or a similar certificate, PMO Certified Professional (PMOCP), or a third-level qualification in Project Management. A full EU/EEA driving licence is required, and the candidate must be licensed to drive in Ireland (ROI) unaccompanied.
