Job description
Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Project Director to spearhead a substantial Infrastructure and Earthworks endeavor. This leadership role requires extensive practical experience managing heavy civil engineering projects, including site preparation, mass excavation, and backfilling at a strategic level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire project lifecycle from initial planning and site groundwork through to final delivery.
- Supervise and coordinate large-scale earthwork activities such as excavation, mass filling, grading, and compaction.
- Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams, fleets of heavy machinery, subcontractors, and consulting firms.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules, budget limits, quality control benchmarks, and health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, liaise with governmental bodies, and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is mandatory; possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
- At least 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in civil infrastructure projects, demonstrating leadership in major site preparation and earthmoving operations.
- Deep knowledge of soil mechanics, earthwork volumetric calculations, and management of heavy equipment.
- Strong leadership qualities combined with excellent negotiation abilities and contract management expertise.
