Project Director

About the Role

Bingman Construction Company is seeking a seasoned Project Director to manage complex construction projects from initial pursuit through to final closeout. This leadership position is responsible for establishing the strategic direction for each project, ensuring superior client satisfaction, and delivering senior-level guidance to project teams. Key areas of focus include financial oversight, risk management, adherence to quality and safety standards, and upholding company values.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from proposal, client interview, and award stages through to completion.
• Define project vision, goals, and criteria for success in collaboration with Project Managers and Superintendents.
• Act as the main executive liaison for clients, actively managing expectations and resolving issues promptly.
• Build long-term client relationships and provide consistently outstanding client service.
• Formulate and lead high-performing project teams, offering strategic leadership and decision-making support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead negotiations for owner contracts and crucial trade agreements to ensure agreed scopes, risk allocation, and commercial terms.
• Maintain comprehensive oversight of project financials including budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and cost reports, participating in ongoing monthly reviews.
• Manage master schedules and critical milestones, intervening proactively to mitigate any delays.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with quality standards through regular audits and spot checks.
• Identify and communicate project risks, encouraging proactive risk mitigation and capitalization on opportunities.
• Promote safety leadership and maintain strict compliance with all safety practices and company policies.
• Manage project closeout activities including handover procedures, warranty administration, training, and final documentation to ensure smooth transitions and client satisfaction.
• Model integrity, accountability, and professionalism while communicating timely and constructively, maintaining composure under pressure, and setting high standards for performance and ownership.

Qualifications

• Extensive background managing large-scale, complex construction projects.
• Strong expertise in financial management, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence teams effectively.
• Excellent communication abilities and strong client relationship management.
• In-depth knowledge of construction operations and project delivery processes.
