Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join the Beyond programme under NHS Cheshire and Merseyside's Children and Young People's (CYP) Transformation Programme. This role will focus on providing dedicated programme management support to the newly refreshed Cheshire and Merseyside CYP Alliance, a collaborative forum prioritizing children's health across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed programme and project plans outlining clear milestones.
- Support the mobilisation and operational activities of the Cheshire & Merseyside CYP Alliance and Design Working Group.
- Manage programme controls including plans, actions, decisions, risks, and performance dashboards.
- Evaluate current Alliance workstreams and advise on continuation, redesign, pause, closure, or realignment.
- Coordinate partner contributions to standards assessments, cases for change, and model-of-care development.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational leads to transform complex discussions into actionable plans and recommendations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with providers, clinicians, ICB colleagues, and regional stakeholders.
- Encourage collaboration across the Integrated Care System to enhance health outcomes for children and young people.
- Monitor programme performance, evaluate delivery outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Utilize healthcare management expertise to aid service redesign, improvement, and strategic planning.
- Create and implement communication and engagement strategies targeting key stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefings, meeting papers, and escalation documents for governance and programme forums.
Programme Context
Since its inception in 2021, the Beyond programme has positively impacted over 839,736 children, young people, families, and professionals through 45 projects. Hosted by Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust and working alongside local authorities, public health, and the VCSE sector, the programme aligns with the NHS 10 Year Plan’s core shifts and prioritizes addressing health inequalities with an emphasis on early intervention.
The refreshed C&M CYP Alliance serves as a practical system-wide forum for collaboration, consensus-building, priority setting, and elevated governance recommendations — the Programme Manager will be pivotal in driving momentum, maintaining discipline, and ensuring effective delivery.
