Role overview
A consulting firm focused on energy transformation is growing its Energy Transition and Utilities team and is hiring an experienced Programme Lead. The position supports major change initiatives across power, utilities, and wider energy organisations.
The role centers on leading complex business and technology programmes in areas such as grid upgrades, smart metering, operational technology (OT), asset management, market reform, energy transition, and digital change.
Key responsibilities
- Steer large transformation programmes within the energy and utilities landscape.
- Oversee delivery across business, technology, data, and operational streams.
- Work closely with senior leaders to shape strategy, target operating models, and transformation plans.
- Own governance, risk control, delivery scheduling, and execution oversight.
- Assist with deploying energy technologies and process improvements for utility clients.
Experience required
- At least 8 years of experience delivering programmes in the energy, utilities, electricity, gas, or water sectors.
- A strong foundation in programme management, transformation delivery, or consulting.
- Hands-on exposure to one or more of the following: smart metering, grid modernisation, operational technology (OT), energy markets / I-SEM, asset management, flexibility and ancillary services, or energy data and analytics.
- Prior consulting experience is considered a strong advantage.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and executive-level communication skills.
