Overview
The Program Director, Careers in Finance acts as the finance-focused subject matter authority within the Business Career Services department at Warrington College of Business. Reporting to the Director of Graduate Business Career Services, this role designs, launches, and continually refines a career coaching framework targeted at preparing students for competitive internships and full-time positions in financial services and corporate finance.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and execution of career coaching specifically for financial services and corporate finance graduate students.
- Maintain expertise on key finance sector roles such as investment banking, asset management, private equity, equity research, portfolio management, and corporate finance to guide students and collaborate with faculty and staff.
- Track and analyze recruiting trends, labor market data, hiring forecasts, compensation developments, and employer expectations to ensure programming remains relevant and competitive.
- Initiate and oversee programs like case competitions, consulting projects, company visits, and employer challenges that enhance experiential learning in the finance domain.
- Coordinate closely with the MBA Program Office to bolster marketing, recruitment, and retention efforts by showcasing finance career outcomes and resources.
- Provide tailored career coaching to graduate students, including resume and cover letter advice, interview preparation, networking guidance, and recruiting strategy tailored to individual goals and strengths.
- Collaborate with Employer Relations to deepen connections with financial services firms and expand internship and full-time hiring opportunities for students.
- Engage with alumni in financial roles to develop mentorship, networking, and hiring initiatives that benefit current students.
- Work with other career coaches to share industry insights and promote a unified, student-focused approach across business careers services.
- Participate in departmental strategic planning and college-wide career initiatives to advance overall mission and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Master’s degree accompanied by 6–10 years’ relevant experience in investment banking, wealth management, corporate finance, financial services corporate recruiting, or campus recruiting within financial services.
- Thorough knowledge of financial services recruiting timelines, processes, and practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
- Proven collaborative work style with varied stakeholders.
- Focused customer service orientation addressing student and faculty needs effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience mentoring students or professionals through competitive recruiting.
- Background in establishing strong employer partnerships.
- Familiarity with hosting or coaching case interviews.
- Usage of AI tools to enhance career coaching and program operation.
