Role overview
RV Educational Institutions is hiring a Professor for Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing (OBG) in Bengaluru. The role is intended for an experienced academic professional who can contribute to postgraduate and doctoral teaching, guide research, and support curriculum and institutional development in nursing education.
Academic qualifications
The applicant should hold a Ph.D. in Nursing or in Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing from a recognised university. Candidates who have already submitted their thesis or are awaiting viva may also be considered, provided they complete the requirement before joining. A Master of Science in Nursing with a specialisation in Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing from a recognised and reputed Indian nursing college or university affiliated to a statutory regulatory body is also required.
Valid registration with the State Nursing Council is compulsory, and the current registration certificate must be available. The candidate must also be enrolled in NRTS (Nurses Registration & Tracking System).
Research supervision and recognition
The institution requires the applicant to be a recognised postgraduate guide for M.Sc. Nursing and a recognised Ph.D. or doctoral research supervisor from a reputed university in India. Documentary proof of guide or supervisor recognition from the concerned university must be produced at the time of application.
Teaching experience
A total of 8 to 10 years of faculty experience in a recognised nursing college or institution is expected. The candidate should have substantial teaching exposure in OBG Nursing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, along with experience in clinical teaching, curriculum design, research mentoring, and peer-reviewed publications.
Desirable profile
- Publication record in Scopus, UGC-CARE, or other peer-reviewed national and international journals, especially in OBG Nursing, maternal health, or women’s reproductive health.
- Experience in developing and delivering B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing (OBG) curricula aligned with INC and RGUHS guidelines.
- Active guidance of Ph.D. scholars and M.Sc. dissertations with a strong research mentorship background.
- Involvement in national or international conferences and CNE programmes as a resource person or invited speaker.
- Working familiarity with NABH and NAAC documentation, clinical simulation, and institutional quality assurance systems.
