Job description

About the Role

This position plays a key strategic part in the country Make Mission Team in Kenya. The main goal is to shape and run logistics and warehousing support for seed production inputs, including raw seeds, foundation seeds, treating chemicals, and packaging materials, and to manage their movement to multiple tolling locations across the country. The role also oversees inbound and outbound transport contracting so that seed production and quality operations run efficiently. A major focus is keeping SAP stock records aligned with physical inventory through controlled receiving, storage, issuance, weekly counts, and mass-balance reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and roll out the logistics and warehousing approach for Kenya in line with field production and tolling objectives.
  • Translate the strategy into day-to-day operations by ensuring the right resources are available on time for intake, storage, and release activities.
  • Prepare operational documents and reports, including daily intake updates, weekly stock counts, and monthly stock counts, and complete reconciliations for relevant stakeholders.
  • Create and manage operating budgets and control mechanisms to ensure resources are used effectively in line with dynamic resource flow requirements.
  • Serve as the central coordinator for EHS, One PSS, and OMS activities within warehouse operations across the operating sites.
  • Handle contracts for transporters, warehouses, and temporary labor, ensuring full compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Make sure team members are trained in SAP and other digital tools used in the operation.
  • Use onePSS to drive best practices such as visual management and to monitor operational KPIs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in warehouse, supply chain operations, management, or planning is expected.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Email, Word, and Project.
  • Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Results-oriented, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong teamwork skills, including flexibility to work across functions and positively influence others.
  • Ability to set clear direction and make timely decisions.
  • Fluency in English is necessary.
  • ISO training would be an advantage.
