Production Technician - Hands-On Sports Device Manufacturing

Role Overview

Join OneCourt as a Production Technician, contributing directly to the creation of cutting-edge tactile sports products. This hands-on opportunity involves collaboration with hardware and operations teams to perform assembly, testing, quality assurance, and manage production workflows. Your creative input will also support product enhancements through design ideas and prototyping experiments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and carry out the manufacturing process for devices tailored to Fall NFL, NHL, and NBA clients.
• Follow established assembly protocols and develop new procedures as needed.
• Conduct functional testing on both partial assemblies and completed units.
• Record quality control metrics and report deviations or defects.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and rework defective products.
• Assist in the inspection of incoming parts and supplies.
• Help with packaging, managing inventory, and preparing shipments.
• Identify areas to enhance product quality and assembly efficiency and communicate these improvements.
• Document production steps, test findings, and process improvements.
• Create rapid prototypes including 3D printed components, fixtures, jigs, and mechanical mockups to evaluate manufacturing or user experience changes.
• Assemble small runs of surface mount PCBs for electronics prototyping tasks.
• Provide assembly-related feedback to Engineering and Design teams based on practical experience.
• Participate in bench testing and exploratory trials of new materials and methods.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Proficiency with hand and small power tools.
• Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of surface-mount PCB assembly techniques, including component identification, solder paste application, reflow soldering, and soldering touch-ups.
• Background in hardware prototyping, robotics, or related engineering/maker initiatives.
• Meticulous attention to detail with consistent execution of repeatable processes and excellent manual dexterity.
• Ability to interpret assembly instructions, electronic schematics, PCB diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Bonus: Access to a vehicle and willingness to occasionally visit manufacturing partners in the Seattle region.
