Role Overview

As a Production Technician, you will support manufacturing operations on a dedicated production line, helping produce windows and doors that meet expectations for quality, speed, and safety. This is a practical, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys craftsmanship, works well with others, and is comfortable in a fast-paced plant setting.

Responsibilities

  • Use hand tools and production equipment to fasten window components in the sequence directed by the line lead.
  • Operate tools such as saws, cutting tools, impact drills, rivet guns, and other hand tools as required.
  • Measure, verify, and inspect parts using both metric and imperial units, including millimetres and inches.
  • Check materials and welds for defects, and escalate any non-conforming items to the line lead.
  • Ensure corner welds are cleaned according to quality standards.
  • Complete production paperwork and related records accurately and on time.
  • Keep the work area tidy by removing clutter, recycling waste, and dust each day.
  • Load, unload, move, and handle materials manually or with basic material-handling equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and alert the supervisor ahead of time when supplies are running low.
  • Work with computer applications used in the manufacturing process.
  • Support team members to maintain strong output, product quality, and smooth workflow.
  • Process work orders according to sequence and complete production tasks on schedule.
  • Collect precut items such as hardware, glass, and other parts from machining and assemble components one by one.
  • Report shortages to the cell leader promptly to avoid delays in assembly.
  • Maintain equipment, materials, and departmental areas in a clean and efficient condition.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the windows or doors industry is considered an advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of saws, cutting tools, and general hand tools.
  • Ability to use tools such as an impact drill and rivet gun.
  • Comfort with measurement and verification methods.
  • Ability to work with both millimetres and inches.
  • Experience using computer applications in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience working with diverse teams and varied workplace cultures.
  • Must be able to pass a clear criminal background check.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in a production facility with repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform sitting, walking, bending, and stooping as needed.
  • Comfortable working near heavy tools and moving machinery.
  • Prepared to work in conditions that may include weather exposure, dirt, dust, and noise.
  • Flexibility to work day and/or evening shifts based on production needs.
  • Availability for overtime on short notice when operations require it.

Working Conditions
