Job description
About the role
Transguard Workforce Solutions is hiring a Production Planning Officer for an aircraft engine engine-shop/powerplant environment in Dubai, UAE. The role is focused on managing the full planning cycle for engine repair and overhaul, from strip-inspect-build-test through to final delivery. The objective is to keep turnaround time on track, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure materials, tooling, manpower, and test resources are available when needed.
In this position, you will convert approved work scopes and OEM technical data into practical work packs, coordinate daily work-in-progress, and keep Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test Cell teams aligned with clear operational visibility.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for building and maintaining engine-level production schedules, sequencing tasks to hit turnaround targets, and managing critical-path activities and recovery actions. The role also includes preparing and tailoring engine work packs and task cards using OEM references such as CFM, GE, PW, and RR data, along with AD, SB, EO, and Part-145 requirements.
You will ensure all work instructions, inspection checkpoints, and acceptance criteria are current and correctly embedded in the documentation. A further part of the job is planning and preloading the required tooling, GSE, fixtures, stands, torque tools, special tools, and consumables, while coordinating with Supply Chain and Stores on reservations, shortages, alternatives, repair/exchange items, and kit completeness.
The position also involves estimating man-hours, balancing capacity against workload, aligning bays, cells, and available resources, and tracking actual man-hour consumption against the plan so re-planning can happen quickly when deviations arise. You will publish daily progress updates covering work-order age, bottlenecks, NCRs, parts on order, QA hold points, and test-cell queues, while leading daily stand-up/Tier meetings and escalating risks with recovery plans.
Compliance is a core part of the job, so you must ensure adherence to Part-145, OEM, and airworthiness standards. You will also support internal and external audits and make sure documentation is complete for work-order closure and release to service.
Required qualifications and experience
The employer is looking for a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or an Aircraft Maintenance License such as Part-66 or an equivalent credential. Candidates should bring at least 5 years of experience in aviation MRO, including a minimum of 3 years in production planning, preferably within an engine shop or powerplant setting.
Applicants must have direct experience preparing engine work packs and scheduling module-level activities such as Fan, LPC, HPC, HPT, LPT, and Accessory Gearbox tasks. Practical experience using an MRO ERP system such as IFS, AMOS, RAMCO, TRAX, or Maintenix for work-order management, materials control, and labor planning is also required.
Strong knowledge of OEM engine technical data and airworthiness documentation is needed, including AD, SB, EO, CMM, EM, ESM, and Part-145 procedures. The role also calls for solid man-hour estimation, capacity planning, and turnaround-time management experience, along with strong communication skills and the ability to run daily WIP or Tier meetings and drive follow-up actions.
Preferred experience
Experience with engine programs such as CFM56, V2500, LEAP, PW100, GE90, GEnx, or Trent will be considered an advantage. Additional value will be given to candidates who have worked on test-cell scheduling or coordination, borescope-based rescoping, NDT coordination, balancing, and special processes.
Advanced Excel and Power BI dashboarding skills for shop visibility and performance reporting are also desirable.
