Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a proactive and detail-focused Production Merchandiser at an ethnic wear manufacturing unit in Jaipur. The role centers on managing the flow of orders through every stage of production, from cutting through final dispatch, while keeping buyers, production, contractors, quality, and store teams aligned.
Experience Needed
The ideal candidate should bring 2–3 years of experience in garment production merchandising. Prior exposure to women’s ethnic wear such as kurtas, kurtis, coord sets, and dresses is preferred. Experience with job-work manufacturing or vendor coordination will be considered a strong plus.
Core Responsibilities
You will be responsible for coordinating production activities, monitoring order progress, and ensuring timely execution across teams and vendors. The role also includes keeping track of raw materials, production documentation, and dispatch readiness.
Planning and Coordination
Work closely with buyers on production updates, approvals, and delivery timelines. Create and maintain Time & Action calendars, support production planning with the Production Manager and QC team, and coordinate with stitching and finishing contractors to keep work moving on schedule.
Material and Order Tracking
Follow up on fabric, trims, labels, packing material, and accessories so that all production inputs are in place before execution begins. Track quantities order-wise from cutting to final dispatch and coordinate dispatch planning to support on-time deliveries.
Quality and Reporting
Partner with the Quality team to ensure garments meet buyer requirements, address production issues before they grow, and escalate delays when needed. Maintain production reports, order files, and other records, and assist with sample development and pre-production tasks whenever required.
Skills and Background
The role calls for a solid understanding of garment manufacturing, production scheduling, order execution, garment specifications, measurement sheets, and tech packs. Strong communication, follow-up, coordination, and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office. The ability to handle multiple orders under tight deadlines is important.
Preferred Education and Tools
A graduate degree in any discipline is preferred, with education in Textiles, Fashion, or Apparel seen as an advantage. Familiarity with production ERP systems and a basic understanding of garment quality standards will be beneficial.
Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured through timely order execution, quick buyer response, adherence to T&A plans, compliance with production schedules, minimal delays, accurate reporting, strong contractor coordination, and on-time dispatch of orders.
Compensation
A competitive salary will be offered based on experience and skill set.
Additional Notes
Applicants should be organised, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and genuinely interested in coordinating garment production from order receipt through final dispatch.
