Job description

Role Overview

A New York-based apparel business is looking for a meticulous Production Associate to help run day-to-day production workflows. The role suits someone who is comfortable handling data, keeping track of operational details, and working closely with teams across the business to keep product movement on schedule from early development through final delivery.

This is a hands-on production and operations role with exposure to purchase order handling, production monitoring, ERP record maintenance, sample coordination, and vendor communication. It also provides broad experience across apparel production, supply chain processes, and product lifecycle management in a fast-moving setting.

Work Arrangement

The position is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule: 4 days in the office and 1 day working remotely.

Compensation

The annual salary for this role is $60,000 to $65,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, update, and circulate purchase orders while ensuring all details such as quantities, prices, delivery dates, and packing instructions are correct.
  • Keep a close watch on production calendars and shipping timelines, and raise concerns early if delays may affect delivery.
  • Enter and maintain product, order, and shipment data in the ERP platform.
  • Help set up new styles and keep master data current for seasonal launches.
  • Follow up on production samples and arrange reviews with internal stakeholders.
  • Check packaging and labeling specifications to confirm they meet brand guidelines.
  • Handle packing lists, shipping paperwork, and inventory-related documentation.
  • Support reporting, data review, and other assigned projects connected to production operations.
  • Manage sample requests for marketing, sales, photoshoots, and other cross-functional needs.
  • Work with production, merchandising, planning, design, and sourcing teams to help business goals move forward.
  • Step in to support other members of the production team when needed.

Candidate Profile

The company is seeking someone who is proactive, highly organized, and comfortable building expertise in apparel production and operations. The role calls for strong accuracy, dependable follow-through, and the ability to work smoothly with several departments at once.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Production Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a similar discipline is required.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in apparel production, operations, merchandising support, planning, or a related area is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, plus the ability to analyze data, is important.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems is needed; familiarity with apparel software is an advantage.
  • Excellent organization and close attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills are required.
  • The ability to juggle several priorities in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
  • Experience using AI-based productivity tools and automation workflows is a plus.

Additional Information

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants broad exposure to apparel production operations and is eager to grow in a data-driven, collaborative environment.
