Role Overview

This role is primarily based in our Wellington office and supports a hybrid working model, with some on-site presence required. The Product Owner will act as the critical link between business units, IT, and external users, leading the management and enhancement of the Application Management System (AMS) and Cost Recovery System (CRS). They will provide leadership across these platforms, assist users, resolve system issues, and ensure these technologies support regulatory activities efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead system governance and performance improvement initiatives for AMS and CRS.
  • Provide user training, guidance, and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with internal teams, external agencies, and vendors.
  • Oversee system upgrades, testing, and change management processes.
  • Drive continuous improvements in time management and cost recovery mechanisms.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience with business systems in application or case management contexts.
  • Sound understanding of time tracking and cost recovery processes.
  • Proven track record in leading or supporting system improvements, releases, and change initiatives.
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, including proficiency in tools like Power BI.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in developing and delivering user training, guidance, and documentation.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, influencing skills, and ability to collaborate effectively across teams and external partners.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with case management systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Knowledge of government machinery and public sector operational processes.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships or working with external suppliers.
  • Understanding of Cabinet Fees Framework or regulatory cost recovery models.

Salary

The salary range for this position is NZD 106532 to 159798 annually. The midpoint is NZD 133165, and appointments are usually made at or below this midpoint depending on experience and skills.
