Job description
Role overview
This role sits within Google’s product marketing function and focuses on shaping how Grow with Google is positioned and communicated. Grow with Google is Google’s program aimed at helping people gain the skills needed for better jobs or career advancement, while also supporting business partners in finding talent. The initiative was created around the belief that technology’s benefits should be available more broadly, and it has helped 13 million Americans build skills, move forward in their careers, or grow their businesses since 2017. More than 400,000 people have completed the Google Career Certificate program, with many using it to move from lower-wage work into higher-paying roles.
The team is now focused on expanding AI learning to tens of millions of people in partnership with others, recognizing that AI is reshaping work and everyday life. The role supports this effort through end-to-end product marketing work, combining strategy, content, research, and cross-functional execution.
By applying, candidates may be able to indicate a preferred work location from New York, NY; Mountain View, CA; or San Francisco, CA.
Core responsibilities
- Study the needs of job seekers and small business owners through user research, then turn those insights into content strategies that can be put into action.
- Create strong, engaging marketing materials across a range of channels that help increase user engagement and growth.
- Test fresh approaches to content development and distribution, including the use of AI tools to improve speed and scale.
- Deliver marketing plans in a fast-moving environment while keeping projects organized and ensuring alignment across teams.
- Explain AI and skilling topics clearly in both spoken and written form so different audiences can understand and act on them.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in product marketing, content development, or a closely related area.
- Hands-on experience running marketing projects from early concept through completion.
- Experience using AI tools for content creation or workflow support.
Preferred qualifications
- Completion of a Google Career Certificate or an AI Professional Certificate.
- Background in workforce development or the small business ecosystem.
- Strong interest in AI and its ability to improve education and career progression.
- Ability to think both strategically and creatively about how content is delivered in a fast-changing environment.
- Excellent communication abilities with a strong focus on storytelling and user-focused messaging.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing projects with many stakeholders.
Compensation and benefits
The listed US base salary range is $116,000 to $167,000 per year. In addition to base pay, the role includes a 15% bonus target, as well as bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits. Pay is determined by factors such as relevant skills, experience, and education or training. Google also offers benefits, which candidates can learn more about through the company’s benefits information.
Equal opportunity and legal notice
