Role overview
This position sits within Google Play’s consumer marketing organization, where the work focuses on connecting Google technology with users around the world. The team aims to make Google Play products more engaging and useful, while building new experiences that attract and retain customers. In this role, you will help shape marketing strategy for partner-led initiatives and support the full lifecycle of campaigns.
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will work closely with app and game developers to help drive the global ecosystem forward. You will act as the main execution owner for strategic Developer Marketing Fund (DMF) co-marketing commitments, and you will coordinate partner marketing assets through legal, creative, and developer review steps to launch campaigns successfully.
More broadly, product marketing at Google involves end-to-end ownership across positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization, and external communication. The work requires partnership with teams across sales, communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering, and other functions.
Google Play includes music, movies, books, apps, and games across devices, with cloud-powered syncing across web and device experiences. The team supports Android by enabling developers and partners to reach a large user base through a premium storefront and strong content partnerships.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of practical experience.
- At least 4 years of marketing experience across one or more areas such as growth, product marketing, brand, or social marketing.
- Background in managing projects that require coordination across multiple teams or functions.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with app or game developers and other key partners to plan and execute joint marketing campaigns that support business goals.
- Exposure to, or strong interest in, the mobile and video games space.
- Strong communication ability, including presenting information clearly and managing relationships with both internal and external audiences.
- Strong project leadership skills, with the ability to handle several parallel initiatives across different stakeholders.
- Well-developed problem-solving, detail orientation, analytical thinking, and commercial judgment.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute Developer Marketing Fund programs tied to strategic commitments, including building creative playbooks that improve how developer partners appear in global campaigns, reviewing assets, tracking campaign performance, and maintaining regular communication to improve outcomes.
- Oversee content and asset approvals from developers, making sure partner materials meet brand guidelines and reflect the partner’s identity accurately.
- Work with the India-based team to decide which partner content should be prioritized for liveops and other organic social posts, and obtain the required developer approvals for those posts.
- Support the broader team with research, pitch decks, and presentations for developer partners.
