Job description
Role overview
VITL is looking for a senior product leader to own the company’s external integration surface: the EHR/EMR and practice-management systems used by clinics, the pharmacy network that fulfills prescriptions, and the public API used by partners and customers. This position sits at the intersection of product, engineering, business development, sales, and operations, with accountability for making the technical and commercial pieces work together.
You will spend your time across partner calls, internal planning, and rollout coordination. One day may include a technical discussion with an EHR partner’s developer, a commercial strategy conversation with business development, and an escalation call with a pharmacy operations lead to keep a launch moving. Engineering will own the implementation details; your job is to define the right scope, sequencing, and product strategy so the work lands successfully.
Location and reporting
This role is available as hybrid in Nashville, TN or remote within the US or Canada. The position reports to the Head of Product & Engineering.
What you will own
You will be responsible for the systems and processes that power VITL’s integration strategy, including partner-facing APIs, developer experience, intake, roadmap prioritization, launch readiness, and post-launch partnership management.
- Take full ownership of EHR/EMR integrations that connect VITL with clinic practice-management and clinical systems.
- Lead pharmacy integrations and work closely with pharmacy operations teams to make fulfillment workflows reliable and scalable.
- Own the public API and all developer-facing surfaces, including the API itself, SDKs, documentation, sandbox environments, webhooks, authentication flows, and data models.
- Create and maintain the integration intake process, prioritization method, and roadmap, balancing demand, commercial impact, and engineering effort while protecting existing commitments from being disrupted by ad hoc requests.
- Serve as the technical-economic partner in commercial discussions with sales and business development, helping define what can be built, on what timeline, at what cost, and under which constraints.
- Run technical discovery with partners, write accurate discovery summaries, negotiate realistic delivery plans, and guide phased launches with staged customer communication.
- Define pilots, validation steps, and go/no-go criteria, then lead each integration through launch, quality review, migrations, incidents, escalations, and adoption monitoring.
What success looks like
Success in this role means the integration intake process becomes self-sustaining within 90 days, with a single funnel and a clear prioritization framework that aligns product, sales, business development, and engineering.
It also means scoping is trusted, launch surprises are minimized, integrations meet go-live dates and quality expectations, partner adoption follows within 60 days, and the team develops reusable playbooks that make each future onboarding faster than the last.
About the company
VITL is a Nashville-based healthtech company focused on simple e-prescribing infrastructure for cash-pay medical practices. Its open pharmacy marketplace connects clinics with verified 503A compounding pharmacies across the United States, offering real-time price comparison, multi-pharmacy ordering, and patient tracking through one interface. Founded in 2024, the company supports more than 700 clinics and 175,000 patients, and is backed by Signalfire, a venture firm with $3B in assets under management that led the company’s Series A in late 2025.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary for this role is competitive and will depend on relevant skills, experience, and geographic location. Total compensation may also include performance-based incentives, benefits, and company equity or options.
Security, privacy, and compliance
This role may involve access to PHI and PII, so the person in the seat must follow HIPAA requirements, company privacy rules, and least-privilege access practices.
Equal opportunity and inclusion
VITL is an equal opportunity employer and evaluates all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. Candidates who meet most, but not all, of the listed qualifications are still encouraged to apply.
What you bring
- Strong experience shipping integrations, partner APIs, or large-scale technical partnerships across the full lifecycle from discovery through production.
- Comfort designing for developer users, including API usability, SDK experience, onboarding flow, and self-serve documentation.
- Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability, e-prescribing, EHR integrations, pharmacy systems, or cash-pay telemedicine.
- Technical fluency to review API documentation, use Postman, understand webhooks and authentication, and lead productive technical discussions with external developers.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory or compliance requirements into clear product specifications; experience with EPCS and HIPAA is helpful.
- Strong customer presence, with the confidence to push back constructively while keeping partners engaged and deals moving forward.
- Highly organized execution habits, including follow-through, escalation handling, and the ability to keep engineering focused by filtering unnecessary noise.
- Comfort using AI and no-code tools to accelerate drafting, prototyping, and spec development.
- High urgency paired with strong judgment, including the ability to delay a deal when needed without damaging the relationship.
Notes on the working model
The role is described as hybrid in Nashville, TN or remote in the US, with remote eligibility also noted for Canada. The work requires frequent coordination across technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders, and the person should be prepared to handle both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
Compliance expectations
The role may involve handling sensitive health information, and the selected candidate will need to operate with privacy awareness, security discipline, and compliance-first judgment in all partner and internal workflows.
