Job description

Company Overview

GolfForever was founded by pain and performance expert Dr. Jeremy James with a mission to help golfers enjoy the game at their best, with less pain and fewer injuries, for as long as possible. Its digital training and recovery tools are designed to be accessible and effective for golfers of all ages and physical ability levels, drawing on years of clinical experience from medical specialists and lessons from elite players, including World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.

The company operates fully remotely and has built a culture centered on athletics, wellness, and strong execution. Team members collaborate across the country as part of a high-performing group focused on expanding the next stage of the business.

Why This Role Exists

Growth and lifecycle responsibilities — including onboarding, activation, retention, referrals, conversion, and email/push programs — are spread across too few people today. GolfForever is looking for a practical growth product manager to own an important part of the funnel from end to end: develop a data-backed idea, design the experiment, partner closely with engineering and design to launch it, and interpret the outcome independently. This role works directly with the VP of Product and offers meaningful ownership from the start.

Key Areas of Ownership

  • Improve activation and onboarding so more new customers reach their first meaningful success moment; the data shows that users who complete several workouts during the first week tend to retain much better.
  • Run lifecycle and retention initiatives, including email and push programs in Klaviyo, as well as lapsed-user win-back and churn-prevention flows.
  • Optimize conversion across the paywall, quiz/onboarding funnel, landing pages, and equipment attachment paths through structured testing and iteration.
  • Develop and evaluate referral and word-of-mouth mechanisms to grow organic acquisition from a very early base.
  • Own measurement quality by writing tracking requirements, checking event accuracy, and ensuring the team can rely on the data before making decisions.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of product experience, preferably in growth, lifecycle, or consumer subscription environments. Backgrounds in fitness, health, or Peloton-style hardware-plus-subscription businesses are especially relevant.

You should be highly analytical and comfortable using Mixpanel or a similar product analytics platform to build funnels, cohorts, and retention views on your own. You should also be able to write or understand SQL well enough to move without blocking on others.

Strong product judgment matters here. You care about user experience, pay attention to copy and details, and can distinguish between a meaningful experiment and work that adds little value.

Familiarity with AI-native tools is important. Experience using Claude Code or similar tools to prototype ideas, explore data, and work faster is a plus. You are not expected to ship production code, but you should be able to sketch a rough prototype, review a pull request, and understand technical tradeoffs.

This role suits someone who prefers fast execution, learns from failed tests, and is comfortable working with limited process and minimal hand-holding.

Not the Right Fit If You Are Looking For

  • A paid acquisition buyer; marketing owns acquisition channels, while this role focuses on the experience after users arrive.
  • A reporting-only analyst; this role is expected to analyze data and then ship the product changes that improve the metric.

Team Stack

The team works with Mixpanel, GrowthBook, RevenueCat, Stripe, BigQuery, Klaviyo, Linear, Notion, and Figma. The web product is built with Next.js and Shopify, while mobile uses Flutter. Claude Code is used extensively. You do not need prior experience with every tool, but you should be able to learn quickly.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base pay plus equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Annual fitness reimbursement
  • Flexible work culture with remote-first collaboration
  • Company-sponsored 401(k) with matching contributions
  • Complimentary GolfForever subscription and gear

Application Instructions

Applicants should send a resume along with a brief note of 5–10 sentences. The note should cover the best growth experiment you have run and what you learned from it, why growth work for an older audience interests you, and the first opportunity you would prioritize based on this job description. Supporting materials such as dashboards, experiment summaries, or PRDs are welcome. A cover letter is not required.

Leave it if you'd like a reply — we won't use it for anything else.
