Introduction
The role entails deciding the product development priorities in collaboration with the founder, focusing on the aspects that influence student improvement. This position is full-time and remote, based in India, with a departmental emphasis on product development.
Key Duties
- Conduct product discovery by engaging with actual aspirants and convert insights into a defensible product roadmap.
- Produce detailed specifications for engineering to minimize guesswork.
- Monitor and report on the impact of launched features truthfully, including failures.
- Manage the entire funnel from initial user visit to consistent daily student preparation.
- Make decisive choices about product features, often declining proposals with clear explanations.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of three years' experience in product management, preferably in consumer or prosumer products.
- Proficiency in working directly with data, including SQL skills beyond just using dashboards.
- Track record of launching features or products that result in measurable business impact.
- Strong communication skills, especially in writing, as much of the work involves documentation.
Preferred Expertise (Not Mandatory)
- Background in education technology, assessment, or exam preparation products.
- Experience with freemium model conversion and pricing strategies.
- Ability to design prototypes by leveraging strong design sensibilities.
Success Metrics and Growth Path
- Increase weekly active preparation rates consistently each quarter.
- Improve free-to-paid user conversion without relying on discounts.
- Ensure product roadmap decisions are data-driven and verifiable.
Progression milestones include taking ownership of a funnel stage in the first 90 days, managing the entire product roadmap alongside the founder within the first year, and eventually building and leading the product function.
