Job description
About the Company
Maddox Industrial Transformer is a major U.S. supplier of electrical transformers for commercial and industrial customers, with main operations in South Carolina, Washington State, Texas, Idaho, and Ohio. The company has been named by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s fastest-growing businesses for eight consecutive years.
The organization says it was built on Christian values and places strong emphasis on investing in its people, its processes, and the workplace culture. The team focuses on building tangible products, solving real operational problems, and upholding professionalism, capability, and integrity.
Role Overview
This Product Finisher role is based in a shop setting and supports the final stages of transformer rebuild work. It is described as a fast-moving, physically active environment that is not a traditional assembly-line factory position. The company presents it as a solid entry-level path for someone who wants to start and grow a career in a positive, values-driven workplace.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will help complete product finishing tasks on industrial transformers and support the technician team with a variety of hands-on duties.
- Use hand tools to install manway lids and cabinet lids when needed.
- Strip away plastic wrap and tape after painting is complete.
- Place all required labels and stickers on finished units.
- Fit bushing supports when the job calls for it.
- Perform paint touch-ups as required.
The work environment is described as busy and team-oriented, with qualified technicians rebuilding industrial transformers rather than operating a conventional production line.
What They’re Looking For
The company is open to candidates who enjoy practical, hands-on work and problem-solving. It values a strong work ethic, steady character, and a willingness to learn. Experience in welding, fabrication, general shop or mechanical work, and auto body prep or paint is appreciated, but motivated early-career applicants with the right attitude may also be trained.
Ideal candidates are comfortable using online documentation and web-based systems on both computer and smartphone, communicate well in person, by phone, and by email, and approach work with a learner’s mindset rather than assuming they already know everything.
Schedule and Working Conditions
The position is a 40-hour-per-week role on a 4-day workweek. It is a daytime schedule, not a night shift, and generally runs from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with slight seasonal changes during summer and winter. Paid overtime may be available during peak periods.
Applicants must be able to meet basic physical demands associated with heavy-equipment work. The job may involve occasional exposure to confined spaces, and candidates should be able to use basic hand tools and follow written instructions.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.56 to $25.52 per hour. In addition, the role comes with a full-time benefits package that the company says averages more than $20,000 per employee each year, though the actual amount varies based on age, family size, and other factors.
- 3 weeks of paid time off, with an extra week for managers and another week after 5 years.
- Health and wellness benefits that can be taken as traditional insurance or as cash in lieu of benefits.
- Paid maternity and paternity leave.
- 401(k) plan with 100% matching up to 8% of wages.
- Paid holidays.
- Marriage and family gifts for major life events.
- Additional reimbursements and voluntary coverages, including vision, dental, short-term disability, extra life insurance, accident coverage, and similar options where eligible.
Workplace Expectations
The workplace is smoke-free and drug-free.
Application Note
Applicants are asked to include a few sentences explaining what stood out to them and why they believe they would do well in this opportunity.
