Job description
About the Company
Maddox Industrial Transformer is a leading U.S. supplier of electrical transformers serving commercial and industrial customers. The company operates major facilities in South Carolina, Washington State, Texas, Idaho, and Ohio, and has been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s fastest-growing businesses for eight consecutive years.
The organization was built on Christian values and places strong emphasis on people, process, culture, professionalism, competence, and integrity. It focuses on building tangible products, solving practical problems, and maintaining a respectful work environment.
Role Overview
As a Product Finisher, you will work in a shop-based setting supporting the final preparation of rebuilt industrial transformers. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment—not an assembly-line factory position. It can be a strong entry point for someone who wants to grow with a company that values reliability, character, and a solid work ethic.
Key Duties
- Use hand tools to fit manway lids and cabinet lids when needed.
- Strip away plastic and tape after painting is complete.
- Apply the required stickers and labels to finished units.
- Fit bushing supports when necessary.
- Perform paint touch-ups as needed.
Working Conditions
The schedule is 40 hours per week across a four-day workweek, with daytime hours only. The normal schedule is generally 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with minor seasonal adjustments in summer and winter. Some paid overtime may be offered during busy periods.
This role is in a heavy-equipment environment and requires the ability to meet basic physical expectations. Candidates should also be prepared for occasional work in confined spaces and should be comfortable using simple hand tools and following written directions.
What We’re Looking For
The employer is seeking someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and problem-solving. Comfort using online documentation and web-based systems on a computer and smartphone is important, along with clear communication in person, by phone, and by email. A willingness to learn and take direction is valued.
Relevant background in welding, fabrication, general shop or mechanical work, or auto body prep and painting is helpful. That said, the company is open to training early-career applicants who bring the right attitude and ambition.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range is $19.56 to $25.52 per hour. In addition, the company provides a full benefits package that averages more than $20,000 per employee annually, though the exact amount varies based on age, family size, and other factors.
- 3 weeks of paid time off, with an extra week for managers and another week after 5 years.
- Health and wellness coverage that can be taken as traditional insurance or as cash in lieu of benefits.
- Paid maternity and paternity leave.
- 401(k) plan with a 100% match on contributions up to 8% of wages.
- Paid holidays.
- Marriage and family gifts for important life events.
- Additional reimbursements and optional benefits, such as vision, dental, short-term disability, extra life insurance, and accident coverage, where eligible.
Workplace Standards
The workplace is smoke-free and drug-free.
