Job description

About Airwallex

Airwallex is a unified payments and financial platform built for global companies. Its proprietary infrastructure and software help more than 200,000 businesses worldwide — including Brex, Rippling, Navan, Qantas, SHEIN, and others — manage business accounts, payments, spending, treasury, and embedded finance through one integrated solution.

Founded in Melbourne, Airwallex has grown to a team of more than 2,200 people across 26 offices globally. The company is valued at US$8 billion and is supported by major investors such as T. Rowe Price, Visa, Mastercard, Robinhood Ventures, Sequoia, Salesforce Ventures, DST Global, and Lone Pine Capital. Airwallex is focused on building the future of global payments and financial infrastructure.

What Airwallex values

The company looks for builders with founder-style ownership, strong domain knowledge, and the drive to make an impact. Successful people here learn quickly, think carefully, and act with speed and sound judgment. They are collaborative, comfortable turning early ideas into real products, and able to deliver end-to-end. Using AI to work smarter and solve problems faster is also encouraged.

Role overview

This position sits within the Risk Platform team and focuses on strengthening anti-fraud capability to protect customers from payment fraud. The role involves shaping fraud prevention strategy, creating and launching fraud-related product initiatives, and turning fraud tooling into a productized service that better supports customers at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Set the direction for payment fraud products and determine the priority of the roadmap across core features and capabilities.
  • Partner with commercial strategy teams to expand and improve customer-facing fraud management offerings.
  • Own the full lifecycle of fraud prevention products and tools used by risk analytics, operations teams, and customers.
  • Collaborate with the risk analytics team to design and roll out fraud detection and prevention solutions, then track how well they perform.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery with engineering, data science, legal, and compliance partners to build products that meet business goals and regulatory expectations.
  • Lead the fraud analysts team, ensure ongoing review of fraud metrics, identify patterns and emerging trends, and translate insights into stronger fraud prevention tooling and strategy.

Requirements

  • 7 to 15 years of overall professional experience.
  • At least 5 years working in payments fraud or payments risk management.
  • Background in product management, go-to-market strategy, product design, planning, and development.
  • Strong analytical ability, structured problem-solving, and clear communication skills.
  • Proven academic success in a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience in fintech or another environment with a high level of conceptual complexity.
