Role overview
Curefit is seeking a Product Development Manager with deep knowledge of footwear construction and materials to oversee the full sample development lifecycle. This position involves working closely with design, sourcing, vendor, and manufacturing teams to turn concepts into products that are commercially ready, while meeting expectations around quality, fit, timelines, and cost.
The role is based in Bahadurgah, Haryana, and focuses on footwear product development, technical coordination, and execution across multiple stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Own the complete footwear development cycle, starting from concept handover through final sample sign-off.
- Apply a strong command of footwear construction, patterns, materials, specifications, and component selection.
- Prepare and keep up to date development sheets, tech packs, BOMs, and Excel-based product documentation with precision.
- Work with vendors and factories in India to manage sample creation and move products toward commercialization.
- Monitor sample execution, fit adjustments, material approvals, and engineering revisions.
- Check patterns, upper engineering details, mold/tooling inputs, and overall product feasibility.
- Partner with Design, Merchandising, Quality, and Sourcing teams to keep product direction aligned.
- Maintain development timelines and ensure samples are delivered on schedule.
- Help optimize costs while protecting product intent and performance expectations.
- Carry out wear testing and share technical inputs for product improvement.
Required profile
- 5 to 8 years of experience in footwear product development, PDM, or technical development roles.
- Strong understanding of footwear patterns, materials, manufacturing processes, and sample development.
- Practical experience creating Excel specs, BOMs, and product documentation.
- Exposure to managing Indian vendor networks and coordinating with factories.
- Knowledge of lasts, outsole development, fitting, and the commercialization process.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues during development and production.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience in sports or athleisure footwear is preferred.
- Familiarity with the China-India development model is an advantage.
- Comfort working with PLM systems and development tracking tools.
