Our client is a rapidly expanding skincare brand focused on designing innovative and superior quality beauty products.
Role Overview
The Product Development Coordinator will facilitate the complete product development cycle—from initial concept to product launch. This role involves collaboration with diverse teams, contract manufacturers, and labs to ensure the delivery of high-quality skincare products, while keeping timelines, documentation, and development activities aligned.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market, competitor, and trend analysis to guide skincare product creation.
- Monitor sector news, new product releases, ingredient developments, and consumer preferences.
- Compile competitive research and detect opportunities for new product niches.
- Assist in managing product development phases by tracking timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Create briefs for product and packaging, craft product copy, coordinate artwork, and provide formula feedback.
- Organize sample requests, review formula iterations, and obtain approvals from contract manufacturers.
- Oversee project tasks and follow through to meet deadlines.
- Function as the daily point of contact with manufacturers and labs about project progress and sample logistics.
- Monitor costs related to formulas and packaging and support cost evaluations.
- Keep detailed documentation of formulations, ingredient lists, vendor paperwork, and product specifications.
- Coordinate clinical and consumer testing for product claims, managing scheduling and logistics.
- Assist with regulatory documentation and international product registration requirements.
- Build and sustain comprehensive product dossiers covering formulations, ingredients, claims, and benefits.
- Organize and maintain both physical and digital product archives.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, Regulatory, and Operations teams to facilitate product launches.
- Prepare samples of products and packaging for meetings and presentations.
- Develop presentation content, record meeting minutes, and monitor follow-up tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in cosmetic product development, product marketing, or related areas.
- Internship experience in skincare or beauty sectors is advantageous.
- Strong enthusiasm for skincare, beauty industry trends, ingredients, and innovation.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Chemistry, Biology, or related fields; equivalent experience is also considered.
- Excellent organizational ability and strong attention to detail.
- Capability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, including spreadsheet handling.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivation to expand knowledge on formulation methods, regulatory factors, and product claims.
