About The Role

Midjourney is an independent research laboratory dedicated to innovating new ways of thinking and enhancing human creativity through advanced technologies. The organization operates with a compact, self-funded team concentrating on design, human infrastructure, and artificial intelligence.

We are seeking a Product Designer to contribute to the development of user experiences across various Midjourney projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute product designs from initial concepts through to launch phases.
Collaborate closely with both design and engineering teams to develop new features and product launches.
Pay meticulous attention to elements such as typography, layout, motion design, responsiveness, loading optimization, and overall performance to ensure a high-quality user experience.
Create visual assets to support marketing initiatives.
Quickly prototype ideas utilizing tools like Figma, Claude, Cursor, or other efficient design tools.

Candidate Profile

Possess 2 to 4 years of experience in designing and building web applications.
Comfortable navigating the entire design workflow from early-stage concepts to final implementation.
Have a keen eye for intricate design details including typography, spacing, motion, and their cohesive integration.
Basic understanding of HTML and CSS is necessary to collaborate effectively with engineering teams or to partially build components independently.
Experience or comfort with advanced design tools such as Claude Code and Cursor within the design process.
Prefer creating prototypes over preparing presentations.
Value productive work and teamwork over personal ego.

Logistical Details

This is a full-time position based on-site with hybrid flexibility located in either San Francisco or New York.
The compensation ranges between $172,572 and $195,220 annually, accompanied by benefits.
