Job description
Company Overview
We are a collaborative AI workspace where teams and users can integrate knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools all in one place to enhance productivity, clarity, and reduce fragmentation. Millions of users from individuals to large enterprises rely on our platform for their work management needs.
Our employees, known as Notinos, embody our vision of shaping the future of work by valuing craftsmanship and human-centric design rather than simply shipping new features. Each team is focused on redefining how people collaborate in an AI-enabled environment, from business system records to AI agent management and task automation, empowering customers to focus on meaningful work.
Role Overview
Picture the pioneering days of computing in the 1970s and 80s—our mission is to create software that combines timeless design, meticulous craftsmanship, playful interaction, and broad appeal. We face unique challenges requiring a natural flair for product and UX design, technical skills, exceptional taste, and dedication to quality.
This position is based in San Francisco with office work on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays to promote collaborative creativity and development. The candidate should be enthusiastic to engage in-person with the team on these core days.
Key Responsibilities
- Design innovative product concepts balancing vision, quality, efficiency, and commercial viability.
- Refine features meticulously from concept through UX design to flawless execution.
- Lead projects in partnership with engineering teams, ensuring delivery aligns with the design vision.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Experience, Sales, and Success functions to gather insights from diverse user groups and prioritize the product roadmap accordingly.
- Work alongside Marketing to craft compelling narratives that enhance user engagement across various channels including product, website, and help documentation.
- Develop and evolve user interface patterns and design systems to ensure intuitiveness and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Over 5 years of comprehensive design experience, managing projects independently from start to finish.
- Proficient at identifying user needs and advocating for superior experiences that address those needs.
- Expertise in resolving ambiguous conceptual challenges with clear, user-friendly mental models and workflows that enable users to quickly derive value.
- Adept at creating visually attractive, intuitive human interface designs.
- Ability to balance aesthetic craftsmanship, timely delivery, and business considerations in design decisions.
- Open-minded with strong collaborative skills, receptive to feedback, and skilled at synthesizing inputs to make optimal design choices.
- Skilled storyteller using both verbal and visual methods to build alignment within teams.
- Experience working cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, researchers, data analysts, and fellow designers.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience designing and building exceptional tools with smaller teams.
- A commitment to diversity, bringing unique skills and perspectives to the team.
- Motivation to resolve tool fragmentation and information silos.
- Familiarity with computing visionaries such as Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, Bret Victor, and an appreciation of their influence.
- Ability to code alongside design skills is a bonus.
Compensation and Additional Information
Compensation is competitive, including salary, equity, and benefits, and will vary based on location, role complexity, and candidate qualifications. The approximate base salary range in San Francisco is from $285,000 to $330,000 annually.
A Note on AI
While not all roles require deep AI expertise, intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm for experimentation, and comfort with AI as a collaborative tool are valued traits for all team members.

We are committed to inclusivity and welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds. We encourage applications even if you do not meet every qualification. We provide accommodations during hiring processes and do not discriminate based on legally protected characteristics.
