Role overview

The Produce Helper Clerk role focuses on delivering friendly, polished customer support while keeping the produce department organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing. The position involves setting up produce displays, moving product from back stock to the sales floor, and handling incoming deliveries in an orderly way.

Main duties

  • Deliver professional, high-quality service to customers.
  • Set up and maintain produce displays, and rotate product between back stock and the sales floor.
  • Process price updates and keep signage current.
  • Unload incoming produce shipments and arrange pallets and inventory neatly.
  • Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards within the department.
  • Use all equipment according to company standards and procedures.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a professional manner.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Availability for a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Retail experience is preferred, and experience in produce is an added advantage.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as standing, bending, twisting, repetitive movements, and lifting 10 to 40 lbs regularly.
  • Valid Washington State Department of Health Food Worker Card is required.
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
