Role overview
NEU Group is hiring an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist in Midland, TX to support global sourcing and purchasing activities. The position works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve operational performance, maintain compliance with procurement policies, strengthen supplier partnerships, reduce risk, and uncover savings opportunities.
What you'll do
- Prepare, issue, and oversee purchase orders across global vendors while keeping deliveries on track.
- Track purchase order progress, spot potential problems early, and work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve them.
- Keep reporting current for open purchase orders and supplier performance measures.
- Administer blanket purchase orders and coordinate replenishment so production does not slow down.
- Take part in recurring procurement and engineering discussions with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate weekly inventory consolidation activities across multiple locations.
- Make sure suppliers meet shipping and booking timelines to support smooth logistics.
- Review spending patterns to find opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Drive ongoing improvements in procurement and supply chain workflows.
- Build and evaluate supply chain KPI reports to support informed decisions.
- Assist demand planning by reviewing supplier lead times and anticipated production requirements.
- Address production and supply disruptions that could affect delivery commitments.
- Communicate supply chain risks such as delays, shortages, and logistics bottlenecks.
- Monitor supplier and supply chain performance and use KPI data to improve results.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, or vendor management.
- Strong understanding of purchase order handling, fulfillment processes, and supply chain operations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong analytical thinking, issue-solving ability, and negotiation skills.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and proactive in execution.
