Role Overview
The Procurement Specialist will oversee the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and purchasing of food ingredients, kitchen supplies, and related services for catering operations. The position focuses on achieving the best value without compromising quality, while keeping procurement activities aligned with food safety and hygiene expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Find, assess, and onboard dependable vendors for food products and kitchen supplies with an emphasis on quality and cost efficiency.
- Track market trends regularly to keep pricing competitive and ingredient availability stable, adjusting buying plans when needed.
- Lead discussions with suppliers on contracts, pricing, and delivery conditions to secure favorable terms while protecting product standards.
- Arrange purchases in a way that supports kitchen production timelines and reduces interruptions to daily operations.
- Review stock movements with the warehouse and kitchen teams so shortages and excess inventory are avoided.
- Coordinate closely with chefs and kitchen personnel to understand product needs and maintain quality expectations.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships, while also expanding the vendor network and creating a stronger supplier database.
- Check that every purchased item complies with food safety, sanitation, company, and industry requirements.
- Handle procurement needs raised by different departments and ensure requests are completed quickly and effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years of procurement experience, ideally within food service or catering environments.
- Solid understanding of food products, perishable goods, and kitchen equipment.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Working knowledge of procurement systems and MS Office tools.
- Good planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with HACCP, ISO, or similar food safety standards will be an added advantage.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure and meet deadlines consistently.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role is centered on supporting catering operations through efficient purchasing and supplier coordination.
