Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Procurement Officer to oversee purchasing activities for project-related and operational needs in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role focuses on obtaining the right materials, equipment, and services at the best possible value while keeping procurement aligned with technical standards, budgets, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle procurement from start to finish for both project demands and day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure cost-efficient sourcing options.
  • Arrange purchase of equipment, transport services, and project materials according to technical and commercial specifications.
  • Draft, issue, and manage RFQs, purchase orders, contracts, and procurement status reports.
  • Work closely with engineering, project, logistics, and finance teams to make sure materials and services arrive on time.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with local and overseas suppliers and OEMs.
  • Follow company procurement rules, project specifications, and Abu Dhabi market regulations in all purchasing activities.
  • Review supplier delivery performance, timelines, and product/service quality.
  • Contribute to cost-reduction efforts and broader vendor management plans.
  • Keep procurement timelines on track so they match project schedules and client expectations.
  • Study the market to find potential new suppliers, pricing movements, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Handle import/export paperwork and customs clearance procedures whenever needed.
  • Maintain organized procurement files, supplier records, and contract documents.
  • Support contract administration by reviewing supplier agreements, changes, and claims.
  • Ensure all purchasing activity stays within approved budgets and procurement plans.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Between 5 and 10 years of procurement experience in contracting companies, with preference for Energy and/or Transmission & Distribution projects.
  • Strong familiarity with the Abu Dhabi/UAE market and an established supplier network.
  • Excellent skills in negotiation, communication, and vendor management.
  • Comfortable managing several procurement tasks at once and working effectively under pressure.
  • Strong spoken and written English and Arabic proficiency.

The role is based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. Employment is full-time and on-site.
