Role Overview

The Procurement Officer role is a full-time, on-site position located in Harare, tasked with managing the entire procurement cycle. Responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating suppliers, acquiring competitive quotes, preparing purchase orders, and ensuring timely procurement of goods and services aligned with internal needs. The role requires contract evaluation and negotiation to secure advantageous agreements and the ongoing assessment of supplier performance through analytical approaches. The incumbent will liaise effectively with internal teams to understand procurement requirements while ensuring compliance with company policies and driving cost-efficiency in procurement processes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in procurement and purchasing activities, including supplier sourcing and selection.
  • Experience in preparing and managing purchase orders ensuring accuracy and punctual processing.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation to establish favorable supplier terms and manage agreements.
  • Strong analytical capabilities for evaluating supplier performance and cost analysis to support data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related disciplines is preferred.
  • Recognition of professional procurement or supply chain certifications like CIPS or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and uphold high ethical standards in procurement operations.
  • Familiarity with procurement software tools and Microsoft Office suite, coupled with effective verbal and written communication skills.
