Job description

Overview

An international engineering consultancy with an established footprint across Ireland is hiring an experienced Procurement Manager to support large rail and infrastructure programmes. This position offers the chance to contribute to complex public-sector transport projects as part of a growing team.

Role Summary

In this position, you will own procurement activity from start to finish across high-value rail and infrastructure work. The focus is on running tender processes that are both compliant and commercially sound.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create procurement approaches that fit project goals and delivery timelines.
  • Handle the full lifecycle of ITN/ITT and tender activity.
  • Coordinate market engagement and engage suppliers for consultation.
  • Assist with tender assessment, governance checks, and award proposals.
  • Work day-to-day with engineering, legal, PMO, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement-related risk and maintain audit-ready compliance.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and clients in the rail sector.
  • Contribute ideas and actions that improve procurement processes over time.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will bring experience from complex public-sector or other regulated procurement environments, along with a solid understanding of Irish and EU public procurement rules. Exposure to NEC contracts and procurement frameworks is preferred. You should also be confident working with multiple stakeholders, communicating clearly, and balancing several live tenders at once. Background in infrastructure, engineering, or rail projects will be valuable, and experience in consultancy or rail infrastructure settings is beneficial though not mandatory. A degree in Procurement, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related discipline is expected, and CIPS or RICS membership—or active progress toward either—is desirable.

Benefits

  • Hybrid working arrangement.
  • Competitive salary of €70,000 to €90,000 depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to contribute to major Irish infrastructure programmes.
  • Supportive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.

Additional Information

The employer is committed to an inclusive hiring approach and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Applicants are also welcome to consider this opportunity even if they do not match every listed requirement, provided they believe the role is a strong fit.

Location

Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.

Working Arrangement
