Role overview

We are seeking a Procurement Category Manager to take ownership of a marketing procurement category in Doha, Qatar. This role covers the complete sourcing journey, from consolidating demand and identifying suppliers through commercial discussions, contracting, and delivery coordination. The position also requires support for international and cross-border procurement activity where needed.

What you will do

  • Run the end-to-end procurement process for the assigned marketing category, including demand aggregation, sourcing, negotiation, contract finalization, and delivery follow-up.
  • Support procurement requirements that involve overseas or cross-border suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Develop suppliers through structured evaluation, KPI definition, and ongoing performance tracking.
  • Build durable supplier partnerships while continuously improving the supplier pool to maintain quality and punctual delivery.
  • Keep track of market movements, competitor activity, and broader industry trends, then adapt sourcing plans and supplier strategies accordingly.
  • Create and improve category management approaches that fit changing business needs and contribute to business growth.
  • Identify opportunities to lower procurement costs and improve efficiency through smarter negotiation, tighter contract management, and better processes.

What we are looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • At least 5 years of procurement experience in total, including a minimum of 2 years on the client/buyer side.
  • Marketing procurement background is a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of procurement practices in the internet industry.
  • Good commercial judgment, with strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving ability.
  • Practical knowledge of procurement workflows, supplier management, and commercial terms.
  • Experience negotiating in complex settings with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards, with a principled and honest work style.
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure and work with patience and resilience.
  • Strong market awareness and business sense, with the ability to evaluate demand and source suitable suppliers.
  • Excellent coordination skills and the ability to resolve procurement issues effectively.
  • Business-level English in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their practical use is an added advantage.
  • Arabic or Mandarin proficiency is a strong plus.
