About the role

NZ Post is looking for a part-time Processing Officer based at its Meachen St, Seaview branch in Lower Hutt, Wellington. In this role, you will help prepare parcels and freight for delivery by sorting, consolidating, and dispatching items so couriers can get them on the road.

The position is an afternoon shift from Monday to Friday, 1:30pm to 5:30pm. The work also includes forklift duties.

This role sits within a busy, collaborative environment where teamwork, operational accuracy, and a focus on service all matter. The organisation is committed to delivering for New Zealand and contributing to the country's growth and prosperity.

What you'll do

  • Sort parcels and freight efficiently and accurately.
  • Consolidate items ready for courier pickup and delivery.
  • Dispatch freight through the processing workflow.
  • Carry out forklift-related tasks as required.
  • Work with the team to maintain a safe, productive site.

What we're looking for

  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
  • A restricted driver licence and forklift experience, or a willingness to be trained.
  • A dependable team attitude with a strong focus on safety for self and others.
  • Physical capability for a demanding role, including lifting up to 25kg.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound knowledge of geography.
