Role overview

This is a Process Technician position at the Pioneer Encapsulation Plant in Singapore on a 1-year contract. The role reports to the Production Manager and involves operating chemical production equipment to manufacture fragrance products of varying complexity while meeting quality standards and deadlines.

Key responsibilities

  • Support commissioning and qualification work for production equipment and processes.
  • Run chemical production operations independently using assigned machinery and equipment.
  • Select the required raw materials or intermediates, then move and load them into production systems.
  • Carry out in-process testing to confirm customer specifications are achieved, and record or escalate any deviations in line with standard procedures.
  • Work from bill of materials and formula details to ensure correct quantities and sequencing of materials.
  • Produce goods safely and in accordance with predefined process instructions and quality requirements.
  • Read control instruments and maintain clear, accurate records for all production activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance on production equipment.
  • Investigate difficult technical issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare products for the next stage of production or final customer shipment according to department standards.
  • Keep the production area orderly and sanitary, including housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
  • Follow GMP, OSHA, and internal safety rules and other applicable site requirements.
  • Train new operators on the job and support less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Ability to handle occasional lifting of up to 25 kg.
  • Availability to work on a 3-shift schedule or 12-hour shift pattern.
  • GCE N or O Level, or an equivalent qualification; alternatively, NITEC or a diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related manufacturing field.
  • Secondary-level education or equivalent may be accepted if supported by substantial experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing work.
  • Between 1 and 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing environments.
  • Basic chemistry knowledge.
  • Forklift experience or an internal fork-truck certification is advantageous, though not mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP manufacturing processes and cGDP.
  • Basic English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Experience using RF devices.
