Role Overview
Join the Operational Support Grade team at HMP Grendon and Springhill, where you will ensure the smooth daily operations within a busy prison environment. This position blends administrative duties such as managing deliveries and monitoring phone and CCTV activity with physical tasks including security searches, visitor supervision, and escorting vehicles across the prison campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security checks and searches at the prison entrance.
- Manage incoming deliveries and oversee visitor access.
- Monitor telephone conversations and use CCTV systems for security purposes.
- Assist with physical tasks like lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles.
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated team to maintain safety and operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
No formal qualifications are required, but strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential. Sound judgment, initiative, and teamwork are vital attributes. Driving is an important component of this role, so candidates must hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence.
Working Conditions
The role requires flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and night shifts to support continuous prison operations.
