Overview

Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Grendon and Springhill. This role offers the chance to contribute significantly to the smooth and safe running of busy prison facilities. With a starting salary of 29,432, this position involves a blend of operational and administrative tasks, providing a varied and dynamic working experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting daily prison operations including security checks and searches at entry points.
  • Managing the receipt and distribution of deliveries within the prison.
  • Supervising visitors to the prison, ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Monitoring communication systems, including phone calls and CCTV.
  • Performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across the prison grounds.

Candidate Profile

No formal qualifications are required, but effective communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. This fast-paced role demands sound judgment, common sense, and an excellent team-oriented approach. Candidates must hold a valid full UK Driving Licence due to the driving responsibilities within the role.

Work Conditions

You will be required to work various shifts, including weekends and nights, to ensure the continuous operation of the prison.
