Role overview
His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service is recruiting prison officers for HMP Highpoint. This is a challenging, fast-moving role where you will help protect the public while supporting people in custody to make better choices and move forward in life.
The position offers a salary of £35,746 to £40,003 and is suited to people with integrity, resilience, strong communication skills and the confidence to work in a demanding environment.
What the role involves
No two days will feel the same in this job. Depending on the situation, you may need to act as a peacekeeper, a guide, a counsellor or an educator. You will work directly with prisoners and contribute to maintaining a safe environment for staff, offenders and the wider public.
The work is highly people-focused and relies on building respectful, professional and constructive relationships with offenders, including those at very difficult points in their lives.
