Job description

Role overview

A British international school in Dubai is seeking a full-time Primary Class Teacher for either Year 2 or Year 3. This is a fixed-term appointment for two years, with a planned start date of 19 August 2026.

About the school

The school is a long-established international setting serving children aged 3 to 18. It opened 25 years ago and now educates more than 3,000 students from a wide mix of nationalities, including a significant Emirati student population. The school is known for its commitment to academic quality, inclusion, and community.

It delivers the British curriculum from EYFS through KS5 and provides modern facilities. Its academic priorities include strong literacy and numeracy outcomes, inquiry-led learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The leadership team places strong emphasis on staff wellbeing, collaboration, respect, and professional development.

Main purpose of the role

The successful teacher will create a positive and stimulating classroom environment where every child can make strong progress. Teaching will follow the KS1 or KS2 English National Curriculum, depending on the class allocated.

The role also involves close tracking of pupil progress, putting support in place promptly where needed, and maintaining high standards of behaviour. In addition, the teacher will contribute to pupils’ pastoral care and help build a secure, caring setting that supports their social, emotional, and personal development.

Employment terms

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for two years. The annual tax-free salary is £26,600 to £30,500, plus benefits valued at more than £15,000.

Benefits and extras

The package includes accommodation or a housing allowance, medical insurance, dependent visa support with medical cover, tuition fee discount, flight allowance, and a teacher bonus scheme.

Application and safeguarding

The closing date is as soon as possible. The school is committed to safeguarding children and young people, and all staff must share this responsibility. The post requires an enhanced DBS check.

Applications and informal enquiries should be directed to Tarja Aila at Aston Education.
