Overview
The Newton British School in Al Waab, Doha, is inviting applications for a dedicated and experienced Primary SENCO to join our vibrant British international community. This important role is designed for a committed professional to lead and enhance our inclusive education framework, ensuring that every child with additional learning needs achieves their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the special educational needs provision throughout the primary section of the school.
- Identify pupils requiring extra assistance, evaluate their needs, and establish appropriate support measures.
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate individualized support plans and provision mapping.
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons and fostering inclusive classroom environments.
- Mentor and coach staff to elevate inclusive teaching excellence.
- Track and analyze progress data for students with additional needs to inform educational strategies and interventions.
- Collaborate closely with families, educators, and external specialists to maximize student support.
- Lead review meetings and participate in multi-agency partnerships as needed.
- Contribute to the formation and execution of the school's inclusion and SEND policies.
- Ensure adherence to pertinent school policies and local and international SEND guidelines.
- Support safeguarding and pastoral care provisions for vulnerable students.
- Work with senior management to foster an inclusive culture and support broader school development objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Special Educational Needs.
- Demonstrates solid experience in a SENCO role or substantial SEND leadership position.
- Possesses, or is pursuing, an accredited SENCO/Inclusion qualification (preferred).
- Exhibits in-depth knowledge of SEND practices, interventions, and inclusive instructional methods.
- Experienced in engaging with parents and external agencies effectively.
- Shows strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, and excellent communication.
- Dedicated to maintaining high standards, promoting inclusion, and enhancing student achievements.
